HEY, SISTER

Helping Elevate You, Sister Inc.

Helping Elevate You, Sister Inc. (HEY, Sister) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization proudly rooted in the South Suburban Chicagoland area while serving communities throughout Chicagoland since 2018. Our mission is to revitalize and sustain seniors, inspire youth, and bridge generations through transformative programs that promote wellness, education, empowerment, and meaningful community connection.

Through our core programs, Seniority Status, KIDS CaN, and Intergeneration Connection, we create opportunities for social engagement, personal growth, intergenerational relationships, and community support. We are dedicated to empowering African-American women, strengthening families, and addressing pressing challenges such as affordable housing, financial literacy, health awareness, and social isolation.

As we continue to grow, our vision extends beyond programming to creating sustainable resources and affordable housing solutions that support the long-term well-being of vulnerable and underserved populations. Through collaborations with healthcare providers, advocacy organizations, local businesses, and community partners, HEY, Sister continues expanding access to meaningful resources, education, and opportunities throughout the communities we serve.

More than an organization, HEY, Sister is a collective of compassionate, innovative, and resilient individuals committed to creating lasting impact. Together, we foster connection, inspire hope, promote dignity, and strengthen communities because we believe collective action has the power to transform lives for generations to come.

“Collective action can greatly impact the world. Through advocacy, outreach, and social activities, we enthusiastically create avenues to contribute to the greater good.”

ABOUT

Founded in 2017 by Regena Hammock and incorporated in 2018, Helping Elevate You, Sister Inc. (HEY, Sister) was born from a deeply personal journey and a vision to create meaningful change within underserved communities.

After facing a gynecologic cancer diagnosis, Regena became increasingly aware of the disparities, inequities, and lack of accessible support affecting African-American women, youth, seniors, and families throughout the communities she served. What began as a personal calling evolved into a mission-driven organization committed to fostering wellness, empowerment, education, advocacy, and meaningful community connection.

Through programs such as Seniority Status, KIDS CaN, and Intergeneration Connection, HEY, Sister continues creating opportunities that encourage engagement, dignity, social connection, and personal growth across generations.

At its core, HEY, Sister believes lasting impact is created through collective action, collaboration, and community-centered support. By bringing people together through advocacy, outreach, education, and social engagement, the organization continues building pathways that strengthen individuals, families, and communities throughout Chicagoland.
