HEY, SISTER
Helping Elevate You, Sister Inc.
Helping Elevate You, Sister Inc. (HEY, Sister) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, proudly serving women, youth, and the senior community since 2018 in the South Suburban Chicagoland area. Our mission is to elevate women, inspire youth, and revitalize and sustain seniors through transformative programs that promote physical, mental, and holistic well-being, bridging the gaps across generations.
We are dedicated to fostering intergenerational connections, empowering African-American women, and providing innovative solutions to pressing challenges such as affordable housing, financial literacy, health, and social engagement. Through dynamic programs like Seniority Status, KIDS CaN, and Intergeneration Connection, we serve as a beacon of hope and empowerment, creating lasting impact for those we serve.
Our ultimate goal is to provide sustainable resources and develop affordable housing solutions to address the needs of our most vulnerable populations. With partnerships from organizations such as UChicago Geriatric and Palliative Care’s EngAge and OakStreet Health, we continue to grow and strengthen our community, ensuring access to vital programs and opportunities for all.
More than just an organization, HEY, Sister is a collective of innovative, tenacious individuals committed to making a difference. Together, we build brighter futures, promote resilience, and uplift those who need it most—because we believe that collective action can transform lives and ignite change that echoes for generations to come.
"Collective action can greatly impact the world. Through advocacy, outreach, and social activities, we enthusiastically create avenues to contribute to the greater good."

ABOUT
Founded in 2017 by Regena Hammock, HEY, Sister Inc. emerged from a deeply personal journey. After being diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer, Regena was moved to address the disparities and inequalities she observed and experienced as a Black woman in America. This God-given vision ignited a heartfelt mission to improve the social welfare of African-American women, children, and seniors.
At HEY, Sister, we believe our strength lies not only in the principles we uphold but in the tangible actions of our initiatives. By fostering unity and collaboration among women, we are building a platform to advance meaningful change. Together, we can overcome challenges, create opportunities, and make a lasting impact in our communities.
