A powerhouse voice with a velvet edge and an extraordinary stage presence that commands the room, Tracee is more than an entertainer—she’s a cultural mainstay, a mentor, and a connector of community, history, and heart.
Tracee has performed across the country and internationally, gracing venues from intimate jazz lounges to major festivals, earning her rightful place as a Chicago legend. Her style effortlessly blends rhythm and blues, soul, and jazz into every performance, but her presence doesn’t stop at the microphone. Tracee is a dynamic force behind the scenes, and through her leadership at HEY, Sister, she brings the same level of excellence to building unforgettable experiences for our community.
As the Director of Talent & Artist Relations for HEY, Sister and our Seniority Status program, Tracee ensures that every entertainer, artist, and featured guest reflects our mission to elevate, engage, and inspire. Whether it’s a live performance during one of our Fun in the Afternoon luncheons, music curation for themed events, or overseeing stage coordination, Tracee leads with precision and passion.
She works closely with both the Director of Fundraising Events and our CEO to ensure each occasion hits the mark—culturally, emotionally, and professionally. And because Tracee is no stranger to being in the spotlight, she understands how important it is to shine it on others. Her role includes recruiting artists, coordinating performance schedules, and guiding the tone and aesthetic of our stage programming, especially for our seniors and intergenerational audiences.
Outside of HEY, Sister, Tracee continues to be in high demand for both private and public bookings. She is an advocate for preserving Black musical heritage and has mentored younger artists coming into the blues and soul circuit. Her professionalism is rooted in deep experience, and her love for the arts is only matched by her love for her people.
